Current Areas of Research
Children, Youth and Environments (Moore, Bishop, Dimoulias, Xu, Hassan). Research on the relations between children, youth and the physical environment; early childhood centres, youth centres, and paediatric hospitals in Australia and South-East Asia; scales for assessing children’s and youth environments; participatory research, planning and design with children and young people; and translating research into practical guidelines.
Environmental Behaviour, Perception, Cognition and Restoration (Lalak, Moorapun, Lindal, Jones). People’s behaviour in, and experience, perception and cognition of the natural and built environment; emotional response, wayfinding and consumer behaviour; aesthetic preferences for urban plazas; experience of colour contrast and harmony; perception and aesthetics of natural landscapes; and restorative benefits of natural and urban environments.
