Objectives of the PRC

The Planning Research Centre has the following as its major aims and objectives:

• Undertake applied research on urban planning issues in New South Wales and Australia, and to publicize the results of that research widely.
• Provide seminars and round-tables highlighting cutting-edge research in the field of urban planning.
• Provide a forum for politicians, senior civil servants and consultants to discuss issues of importance to planning in New South Wales.
• Provide continuing professional education to urban planners in New South Wales.

Council

The Planning Research Centre is guided by a Council made up of a diverse range of industry partners from the private and public sectors. Council members are appointed on either one, two or three year terms and each bring a wealth of experience to the Centre, helping to guide and influence our Research programs and the running of the PRC. The Council meet regularly to discuss research directions and other relevant planning issues
