Current research interests
- Doctoral thesis - Currently titled 'Constructive Interpretation in Design Thinking', looking at the constructive nature of interpretation and the way that concepts are used to pull meaning from percepts.
- Constructive memory group - A collaborative group of research students involved in work that tries to get at the nature of constructive memory. View the discussion blog [here]

Teaching
Current projects related to research
- An application with a web interface to allow designers to create and run Genetic Algorithms for their specific design problem
- A reference-checking program that works in the reverse order of EndNote. It assumes that the user does not like to organise their references and simply creates references in each document as they proceed. The tool is used to check documents for referential integrity (i.e. the references in the text match the references at the end) but every time that it is used it adds the refences to a database. In future, if a reference is missing, it will add it to the document for the user. As the database is built up, a user will simply be able to enter the reference inline and have the entire reference list compiled for them without ever needing to organise a library
- Working at the Krasnow institute and expanding on an interest in cognitive neuroscience. A brief XP guide to running and installing FSL can be found here
